Vampire girl

Okay so I think some of the greatest insights come from some of my home health patients I just love them. I thought I would share with you one of the greatest. Earlier this week I went to see a patient that I hadn't seen before. She was this cute tiny little old lady living in her home alone. When I came to the door she had some trash that she wanted me to take out first...which I gladly did. She was ever so grateful. Then through the whole visit she kept telling me how beautiful and kind I was etc. I was really feeling good about myself and this job. After a nice visit and some wound care I was leaving and she said. Oh and honey, don't let them cut your hair like that. I was really confused, I didn't know if she suddenly started hallucinating and was seeing something I wasn't or what. So I asked her what she meant. Oh you know the part down by your neck. It makes you look like a vampire. no kidding. I smiled and said I wouldnt and left laughing my guts out. So I can either take this as a compliment after reading the twilight series who wouldn't right? Or just enjoy the good laugh. However if I ever go to see her again I am definately taking the fangs!
Have a good laugh on me!

What we've been up to lately

I thought I would take this opportunity to brag about my daughter Breann. She decided to tryout for the highschool swim team and made it. I know this is a bad picture but she is getting ready to dive in on the farthest block. She has improved her time on the 50 freestyle by 20 seconds. I love going to the meets. It is challenging getting people to cover my shifts but I love watching this girl go! Yea Breann!
The other thing we have been heavily envolved in is a production our stake did called From Comorahs hill. Alyssa was a dancer. She is in the gold skirt on the right of the picture. She was the smallest dancer and did such a great job!

Breann has a long speaking part and she is the funniest actress. Again just a blast to watch!
I am so proud of these two girls they may be all we have at home but they keep us hopping!

Halloween costumes

The winners of the Halloween contest. Richard Simmons and his groupy ( Rob and Linda) The runners up. KISSES and HUGS!

Curt and I had a great time developing our costumes. We have a fun halloween party that we go to every year and we have yet to win the contest. This year Curt was a hug and I was a kiss.

We took 2nd. Any ideas for next year? I really want to win this. It looks like the funny ones are winning not the cute ones.

Fun times in the Rockies with Chris and Kristy

I thought I would update you all on a great weekend we had in the colorado Mountains with Chris and Kristy. We had such a blast. We did everything from finding great deals at the outlets to eating at some awesome restaurants to repelling hiking and bike riding! So much fun! Curt and I really needed the break and wow did we get a fun one. For any of you looking for a great place to go that is a great place. We didn't have time to do everything there is to do there but a lot that I want to do again. On our drive home today Alyssa was looking at the mountains picking out great places to repell. She is hooked....I hate to admit it but so was I. We are all hooked! Thanks again Kristy and Chris for a great time!

Colorado fun!

Our morning of Repelling with Chris and Kristy was great fun. Chris went down first to check everything out. After Kristy went down to hold the rope and give instruction from the bottom while Chris hiked back up for instruction at the top.
Alyssa was really excited to go and Chris was a great teacher! She loved it!
Our fearless leaders at the top of the cliff! Chris and Kristy
Curt followed Kristy down the mountain. She was at the bottom avoiding his rock slide
Breann listening closely to Chris's instructions. She did it!
Yes even I went down (twice)! I loved it!

Trip to Colorado With Chris and Kristy

The four of us had a great bike ride together! We didn't even have to call the paramedics to get us back to the condo. I was a bit worried after a hike and repelling but Chris was good to us and took us on an easy ride! Thanks Chris!
Breann loved being with her sister again!
Our hike took us up to the snow! Notice that Alyssa was having a hard time with the high altitude.
Repelling was awesome. Chris and Alyssa found this great little cliff. This is Curt making his way down.

The wedding is over

wow so the wedding is over and life is getting back to normal. However it just doesn't slow down. We are now in the middle of a production that the kids are in at church called From Cumorah's hill. They have multiple rehersals in a week. Breann made the swim team so she is busy swimming daily. Life just doesn't slow down does it. We are looking forward to going to Colorado to visit Kristy and Chris at his parents condo in Keystone. It is really beautiful there and we can hardly wait! So Julie tagged me and I am supposed to come up with 100 facts about myself. I will do that as soon as I get a chance.
Thanks to all who came to support amy and chace. I thought the wedding was great and it was soooo fun to see you all.

Just so you all know amy is registered at Bed bath and beyond. I don't like to put that info in the invitation but some of you have asked so I thought I would just let everyone know. We are looking forward to a great day and a fun weekend with everyone who will stick around. Let me know what your plans are. I will try to get some ideas of fun things to do. Of course I may just lay on my couch and recover but so far I am feeling great!

Arriving in D.C.

After driving for several hours we made it to D.C. We then decided to hop on a boat that took us to old Alexandria where we spent several hours on King street. At the top we went to the Mason memorial to George Washington. Didn't do the tour...I think we are toured out!
Then we went to dinner with Al and Margurite! Had a great visit. The next day Amy and I went to the temple and she stayed with the sisters and went teaching. I got the kids and we went to the Air and Space museum by Dulles airport. Came back got Curt and then it was off the the game in Baltimore. After driving D.C. all day...well I was a bit crazed! Traffic was unreal and I had to rely completely on my gps. It was tense. The game was fun however!
Us in our free hats! You can see why they were free. Lovely aren't they? The best part of this game came when the vendor opened a bottle of beer for a guy down the isle from David and asked him to pass it down. Well beer was foaming down the bottle and you could tell by the way he held the bottle and his hesitation in holding it that this was just something he didn't want to do. Plus check out the shirt he was wearing. I wished I was thinking fast enough to get that shot!

Hersey Park

Meeting mr. reeses!
who can resist the funny hat pictures?

The ride that drenched the whole group! We have had a blast with the Winkels! Now on to D.C.

Hersey Park tuesday night!

Checking to see how tall we are for the rides. I think the one below shows that David is too tall for the rides.

Braden and Parker enjoying the ride.
I am not sure who had more fun Julie or Parker!

Kirtland to Hersey

In front of the Kirtland temple. We were really surprised to feel so empty in this building. No spirit here at all. It was neat to think of what happened here but the tour spoke more of the building than the activities and events that happened here.

We went to an amish resturant that was really good! Then to a store. David liked their hats.
We saw several pass us on the street in their carriages and horses. So cool.
This is our serious Amish face. Very difficult to get this group to be serious!
This is the Johnson farm. We are standing on the same steps that Joseph Smith stood on to preach the Sunday after he was tarred and feathered.

Pretzel Art by Amy

Guess what Amy is thinking about?

Kirtland

Upstairs on the NK Whitney store where the school of the prophets were held. Also the first MTC We thought this was way cool. I loved Kirtland! The spirit was so strong when we went into the store that I started to cry. I know the prophet was called of God and following his instructions to lead and guide the church.

Niagara Falls

You can see part of the falls behind us. Amy and I went running along here the next morning. what a great place to run!
Curt and I by the falls. My hair really grew here....fuller! Talk about humid.
You cant go to the falls with out going out on Maid of the Mist. We got so close to the falls I got a little nervous. We also got drenched! So fun!

Day 3 Niagara Falls

We had a great day today. I can't get the pictures to upload...something about a really slow internet here in Canada. We started with Church in Rochester NY and then left for Niagara Falls Canada side. Breann was really glad to finally use her passport! The falls are way more than I ever imagined. We went out on the Maid of the Mist (of course) We got very wet! Then we walked along the water seeing the falls from every angle. We have a hotel room that looks over the falls and so we saw fireworks tonight from our room. Cool huh. Well now we are beat but I will try to put up the pics tomorrow when we are back in the states. Hope all is well we are having the time of our lives!

2nd day in NY

We had a great morning in the Sacred Grove. We split up and had some time to ponder alone and then we met back here in a quiet corner and sang Joseph Smiths first Prayer together and then had a kneeling family prayer. It was awesome. The Spirit was so strong in the grove! A highlight for sure for us!
This was taken in front of the Whitmer farm. Wow! Amazing all that happened here!
We also saw the printing press today!
This is waiting to see the pagent. So great. All the smiles are because we had a nap before we went.

We had great seats! We bought beach towels and saved our seats this morning. We loved it! The protesters made us laugh. Lets just say not to educated.
